(Canadian thistle). Some weeds also propagate by means of tubers, which are modified rhizomes, such as Helianthus tuberosus (Jerusalem artichoke) and Cyperus (nut sedge or nut grass). Once a field is infested with these weeds, it becomes very difficult to control them. The weeds associated with different vegetable crops are given in Table 2.1.
